Today is September 23rd, 9th day of the quest to lose 40 by 50. What a great first 9 days. 8 days junk food free, 7 days of exercise, 6 protein shakes, 5 golden rings. . . wait, wait, isn’t this the start of a Christmas song? Ok, time to get back on topic.
One of the main differences in my mindset is to have fun losing weight, instead of making it a chore. I’m not an extreme weight loss contestant, I’m just a normal guy who gained weight over time and is going to lose it. Most of us are overweight due to choices. We choose to eat the wrong foods, we choose not to exercise when we can, we choose to eat extra desserts, etc. Listen, I’m one of them, and I’m choosing to change that.
You see, unlike times past, I have a routine, I have written goals, I believe I will achieve it, and one of the most important things, I’ve included my friends in my goal. Read this line again, 2 key words GOALS and BELIEF. If you have those 2 things with a reasonable goal, you can achieve it. (40 pounds is a lot of weight in 6 months, but I know it is attainable even though I’ve never lost that much weight in that short a time period before). Oh, the numbers in the goofy xmas song at the top are my real numbers for the week. (except for the rings, sounded good in the first paragraph. See, having fun :)
Have I been perfect, no, but I don’t have to be perfect. I have to be good, and if routine fails for a day, (make sure the streak only hits one) I get right back on it the next day. Choose to be great and succeed, and you will. Till next week.
Soon to be former fat guy,
1st weigh in will come on October 14th.
