To my amusement, this morning I was watching The Today Show, and they had a segment on Batdad. A father of 4, Blake Wilson has decided to put a different spin on parenting. He becomes Batdad.
Donning the mask, cell phone in hand, and the trademark bat husky voice, he plays the role of father, superhero, and seeming goofball parent perfectly. Which begs the question, what is good parenting?
From the videos, it also shows Blake teaching life lessons and being a firm parent when necessary. Parenting should be fun and educational. In those areas, he seems to have nailed it. His wife on the other hand, well, goofy husbands will sometime annoy, but it all seems like good natured fun.
Is everyone Batdad? Of course not, but consider the impression you would like to leave on your children, the lessons you would like to teach, and how you respond when there is tension in the house. Maybe donning a mask to change the mood might just be the way to go.
Blake Wilson, we at TMPPOTN salute you.
Leave an impression the way you would like to be remembered.
