Even though the story of my birth seems though I have been left completely without any kind of ability to lead a normal life, this could not be any farther from the truth. On the contrary, even though the stroke I had at birth left me with the limited use of my entire left side there have been many times throughout my life that I have been able to exceed all expectations by going above and beyond the initial potential that I knew I already had. One example of this is in the area of education where I succeeded way past the ordinary while in high school.
Despite the fact that there were a lot of challenges that I had to face in doing the most simplest of any tasks, including dressing and taking care of myself I have successfully done some small tasks with my left hand outside of any physical therapy that activities that I have previously been involved in. Some of the tasks include turning the water on from a faucet with a lift knob, opening a car door and house door, and other things of that nature.
However, throughout all the challenges and limitations I have faced in doing any normal daily activity I have continued to stay positive all the while doing the little things that can be done to keep working on the path being completely normal. I am happy to say, that even as I type this story out I have come to find that my life of dealing with challenges has come with a sort of blessing. In an attempt not to brag, but I do most things one handed, even typing. This story is not the end though. I am in search of my miracle, and until then I am continually pressing forward to face each task that lies before me.
